Target Audience
The proposed tutorial targets a broad range of audience, including students, researchers and healthcare practitioners who want to catch up with the problems, algorithms, and applications in the area of mining healthcare data. Besides, we also welcome any participant with related knowledge on data mining to join the tutorial. Since healthcare data bears many properties that may be shared by data from other application domains, solutions to real-world healthcare data may also benefit other applications.
Although we will introduce the basics of knowledge required, it is better to have some knowledge in college-level mathematics and data mining. The emphasis will be on introducing the special challenges brought by healthcare applications, and the intuition on methodologies to solve those challenges. The tutorial will be self-contained in a high level.
